This was one of those moments that makes you stand This was one of those moments that makes you stand still or run around excitedly trying to capture the light show unfolding before you.

Coming down the Crown Range in our trusty Swifty after a day of riding at Cadrona, the opportunity to stop at a few lookouts couldn’t be missed. It was the day of the AFL Grand Final, so the idea was to get down the hill and watch the game after a few quick snaps.

@nathan.triandafillou wound up in conversation so I thought I may as well grab my digital camera whilst we were waiting.

The longer we were there the better the show got and we couldn’t leave with the sun rays piercing through the clouds creating a curtain of rays above the ranges.

Thankfully Nathan’s team Collingwood didn’t make the final otherwise we would have rushed down to watch the game and missed this special moment.

The brief? Hook it up to my van and take it on a surf trip up the coast.

In short the Domestic CFX2 was our coolest companion keeping us fuelled, allowing us more time to focus on what the trip was all about - surfing.

At 13.5kg, it’s easily manueverable and we were able to set it up on the beach or next to camp thanks to our portable battery set-up.

It was ideal for mid-surf snacks and helped keep us fuelled for long stints out in the water. As a consequence there were some happy campers/surfers.

With its robust and ergonomic design, the CFX2 will be coming on many more adventures. 🌊🏄‍♂️☀️
Exploring familiar places in new light 💡 We head Exploring familiar places in new light 💡

We headed down the point this day as the top was too blown out. The light was super variable and strong overhead so I decided to shoot in B&W.

If I had shot in colour the images would have felt flat, instead B&W helped bring out the contrast in the shadows and textures, bringing the scene to life.

Core moments with the locals in Indonesia. Commun Core moments with the locals in Indonesia.

Communication can be limited at times, but the shared experiences in between coffee, surfs, drop-ins and a stolen moped are priceless.
I grew up a non-surfer when I was younger, but I w I grew up a non-surfer when I was younger, but I was subscribed to Rip Curl’s ‘The Search’ series via email. I didn’t think I’d ever get into the surfing world at that stage, yet here I am, years later on the top of a hill overlooking one of Indonesia’s best waves. I guess those videos had a deep impact on my sub-conscious, more than I originally realised.

There was a shelter overlooking the waves on top o There was a shelter overlooking the waves on top of the hill, I told one of the locals I was going up there.

He said ‘nah man it’s too hot wait for sunset’, of course I went up anyway..

It was more dense than I expected, but with some exploration I found some clear views of the lines rolling in, with the overhead sun bringing out those deep blues.

Moral of the story: listen to your gut it will lead you to some pretty special places
